Keeping Everyone Safe
Hope Community Church is committed to the safety, protection and wellbeing of every child, young person and vulnerable adult who engages with the life of our church — whether as a regular member, a visitor, or someone taking part in one of our activities or events.
We believe that safeguarding is not just a legal responsibility — it is an expression of our Christian values. Every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and care. This applies to everyone connected with our church, from first-time visitors to long-standing members and staff.
Our Safeguarding Policy has been adopted by the Trustees of Hope Community Church and is reviewed annually. It sets out clear procedures for identifying and reporting concerns, and ensures that the right people are trained and in place to respond promptly and appropriately.

What Happens Next
How to Raise a Concern
You don't need to be certain something is wrong to speak up. If something doesn't feel right, tell us — we will handle it carefully and confidentially.
If you feel that a concern has not been handled appropriately by the church, you have the right to raise it directly with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. You can do so at gov.uk/complain-about-charity. Hope Community Church is a registered charity (no. 1108872) and is accountable to the Charity Commission.
